Dinner at the Hitching Post in Casmalia
Our FTD® representative, Lisa Miller, called and asked us to dinner last night, it was our choice and my lovely bride, Mia, chose the Hitching Post in Casmalia. Lisa had been to the Hitching Post in Buellton, the restaurant made famouse by the movie Sideways, and had heard of the Casmalia location. It was nice to see Lisa and discuss the many changes going on in the floral industry.
I was delighted to find that the HP continues to offer their Anniversary Dinner which is the complete dinner and each person can choose either the Chicken Breast or Sirloin Steak. My chicken was absolutely delicious, tender and juicy. Our Bar B Qued Artichoke appetizer was as delicious as ever, generally my choice as my main course. Mia's said her steak was on the tough side, but I noticed she was able to finish it. Lisa ordered a full rack of the Baby Back Ribs and seamed to delight in them. I was very happy to find the Hitching Post has improved its wine menu and we thouroughly enjoyed a bottle of Edna Valley Tolosa Pinot Noir 2004.
When we arrived at the Hitching Post there were only two tables seated at 6:00 and the restaurant had the usual lovely aroma of oak. By 7:00 the restaurant was full and noisy as usual. We had not been to Casmalia in a while and I enjoyed the drive out to the Hitching Post. Lisa, who is from the LA area remarked many times how beautiful a drive it was. Another reminder that we too often take our lovely coast for granted.

I was visiting Californias central coast, and wishing I could find a good steak like I do in stockyard districts of Oklahoma City and Ft Worth. Someone mentioned a little restaraunt in Casmalia that would give me the best steak in the area, they were right!! In the 5 months I spent in the area no one held a candle to the Hitching Post restaraunt.
