Two Blocks Off the Beach

What fun it is to live on the Central Coast! We meandered up to SLO to visit Home Depot, we like the SLO store better than the one in Santa Maria. We decided to give a recommended restaurant Two Blocks off the Beach a try, I am very glad we did. My wife tried the special of the day which was a Prime Rib of Beef sandwich and I tried the Bruschetta.

The Bruschetta is fun, a little bit of a twist on the original. With this version you choose from a menu of several pairings for a total of four types. I choose the Prosciutto with Figs, the Roasted Peppers and Goat Cheese, Ricotta with Dates and Tuscan Bean. I can recommend each of them highly. Mia's sandwich was a very tasty traditional roast beef sandwich, very well presented and tasty.

A plus with this restaurant is the great wine list and if you lunch before 3:00PM  the wine is only five dollars per glass for some great local wines which normally sell for 10 to 12 dollars per glass.

Our server was very personable and attentive but I did not get his name. All the servers however greeted us and were personable.

The restaurant is a funky decor of boudoir and industrial with a little victorian thrown in. The decor is delightful and very comfortable.

The only complaint I had was that there were not more people supporting this very lovely little restaurant. It was lunch hour on Saturday and we were one of two tables being served. Please, give this place a try you will not be dissappointed.
