Health Magazine touts importants of flowers.

The May 2007 issue of Health Magazine includes an article on the benefits of flowers. Siting the Harvard research on the effect of flowers on people's emotions the article stated "Flowers really do brighten your day, according to Harvard researchers. In the study, tow groups of people lived with either fresh flowers or a decorative item like a candle for about a week; their emotions were recorded several times a day. Those who kept flowers were kinder and more compassionate toward others, and felt less negative overall. What's more, they said the positive vibes even made it from home to work, where they felt happier, more enthusiastic, and more energized. One more reason to stop and smell the roses" .

Flowers really do make a diffence in the overall quality of life. As the Spring coaxes new vegetation in my garden I find myself wanting more and more to escape there it's solitude. The beauty of spring blooms and the song of the Mockingbirds, and tat of Woodpeckers makes the cares of this world seem of little significance.
