Wedding Flowers Delivered by Fedex

As a florist, I am first interested in serving people. All my life I have worked in service industry, enjoy people, food, parties and events in general. I cannot tell you how sad I was when a young woman came into my store today and asked if there was any way I could help her with her wedding flowers. It seems she ordered her flowers to be delivered via Fedex through an online floral service which sells "boxed weddings" and she had just been informed via email that a problem occured and her flowers would be one day late. She was obviously upset as that would put the flowers in her hands, after she had left on her honeymoon.

There are a host of floral companies on the web, many from outside the United States. In this particular case, her pre-made wedding flowers were coming from South America and were being held in Miami for inspection. I checked out the website she was ordering from and there would be no way for her to know where her flowers were coming from and that there might be a delay.

While she may get her money back through her credit card company, assuming she did not use a debit card, it was still a costly mistake. This young lady lost the memories that a florist would have been able to create for her had she taken the time to work locally. The irony of this is that what she ordered was almost identical to a customizable wedding package we sell for $50.00 less than she was paying for her package plus her shipping fees.
